Political Views

 My results:

On Non-Fiscal Issues, I rank as a Moderate Conservative (65).
On Fiscal Issues, I rank as a Moderate Liberal (38).

My score is on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being fully liberal and 100 being fully conservative.

Well I completley agree with the test results. I really agree with both the rebublic and democarte sides, so to put me at moderate is a good thing. I have strong views on abortion, flag burning, gay marriges, and gun control. Abortion I do not agree with at all. I think that it is a person. They should if anything have the baby and give it up for adoption. Gay marriges I defently do not agree with. I think that marrige is to be between a man and a woman.  That is how it is in the bible and that is how it should stay. I think that gun control laws are good as they are. If you really think about if a person wants a gun they will get one way or anouther. As for my veiws on flag burning I can't bear the thought. The flag stands for what we are and what we were. I think that people that burn the flag show disrespect towards the people who faught for us to have our own flag.

I think that I would more be on the dermocrate  side. I have more views that the democrates have then the republics have. I do all though  have some repuplic views to. So I like that the test put me at a moderate for good reason.

To some it all up. I agree more with the democrates. My strongest views are abortion, flag burning, gun control, and gay marriges. I don't have much of an opnion on the finacal part of the whole thing. I am sure that will all change when I get older and have to deal with money more often. I'm happy with my test results. I cant wait till I am older and will be able to vote for a canaidate with similar views I have.

Thomas Friedman's "Flat World" & 9-11

Thomas Friedman's idea of a flat world comes from what our nation and the world has gone through over the last few years. The United States at one point was the most prosperous, and richest country. After advances in technology the world became more connected.  People from all over the world started to talk.  Companies that were originally from the United States expanded to China and Europe. All with a mouse click. Employees would travel the world to represent their company. People don't even have to live in the same state anymore to work for that business. A certian company has other companies work for them such as UPS and Nike. In simple terms the world grew through technology, and it grew fast. United States, China, and Africa all are becoming equal. They U.S. is still in the lead, but who's to say when they will catch up with us.

My opion on this is that yeah, I believe this is happening. The United States government has gotten so used to us being ahead that they don't realize that over the past few years we have slowed down. They are now seeing that our schools and companies need to expand. Schools need to teach more like China teaches their children. Not year around, but they have higher expectations for their students. The companies need to see that they are being replaced by people in Africa all through a computer. The effect this would probablly have on me is that I will not have a job. There are so many people in China that are smarter and don't ask for as much money that would gladly take the job. Now I know I will get a good job, but who knows about other people.

"Thank God, that my dad and stepmom where just discharged" That was my first reaction to the whole situation. That imidiatley got me thinking of those whose families where in the twin towers and the soliders that where sure to be sent over seas. I don't even remember where I was that day or what I was doing. I remember crying alot honestly. I know that sounds cheesy but I was scared. You see I know a lot of the men and women that are fighting over there. I have been lucky enough to not know any one who has been killed. The thing is that when the twin towers fell on September 11, 2001 it strengthend or country. We all new someone who had a connection to someone that was in the twin towers or about to be sent to a strange country. It reminded us that we are one nation, under God. It was a sad day. People lost loved ones. It took me a long time to understand what was happening but I understand now. I believe that we are a better country now. It woke us up in a way. It reminded us that we are not the only country in this world. default
