Dont you just hate it when that ipod or cell phone keeps breaking? How do you know if its worth it to keep fixing it...or should you just throw it away and buy a  new one? Well if you lie awake thinking about this at night, then today is your lucky day!

Whats the point of repairing broken divices when there is an abundance of new models with prices that often slide. But Im not saying chucking the divices everytime something goes wrong isnt the best choice either. According to statistics, in 2005, 2.5 million TONS of old gadgets were tossed into yesterday's gargage! Most of these electrons contain chemicals like mercury and lead which definatly are NOT Earth's best friends. Repairing your damaged electronics is worth considering but deciding whether to repair or replace depends on the situation. You have to keep in mind that repairs arent always possible, and the cost of repairs and the cost of replacements can usually be about the same.

So if you accidently step on your little brothers ipod or break a dvd player on the way home from the store, keep these tips in mind.

THE mother of Robert Hawkins, the shooter at Von Maur this past week, has spoken up about the troubles she sensed from her son. She said she could tell something was wrong the night before the shootings, while the family was having dinner together. Hawkins killed himself after shooting and killing eight people December 4th. Hawkins mother says she thinks of those who have died and is facing the horrors left behind from her son for her to face, as well as getting over the lose of her son.

In a news interview she said "My son took the lives of eight people and then killed himself. My most beloved baby boy did that." She did an interview on ABC News to tell people "everyone needs to know how sorry I am". She hopes that everyone can forgive her and her son for what has happened.

One of the greatest meteor showers in recorded history (more like of this year ) is nearing its climactic end! It is called a Geminid Fireball and is a wonderful site to be seen! The meteor shower gets its name from the star constellation called Gemini The Twins because the meteors appear to come form a spot in the sky near Gemini.

Planet mars will also be visible as it makes its way closer and closer to earth this month. Its yellow-orange hue will definatly attract star gazers this month.

Suffer from headaches much? Headaches can be a real pain...in the head! If you get them often and you cant figure out why, it might be from the following....

 Too many pain pills can sometimes cause headaches...instead of relieve you of them. Its one big vicious cycle. Your muscles ache, so you take an asprin, and then you get a headache, so you take more, and the headache gets worse and just as the your headache goes away, you find that your muscles still ache so you take another asprin, and the headache comes back.

Another probable cause is drinking too much caffine. Sometimes your cup of coffee in the morning can get rid of your headache...but if you drink too much, it could do just the opposite. If you are drinking more than two cups in the morning...thats probably to much!

Yet another hidden cuase is blood sugar imbalance. What that means is that you have way to much sugar in your blood...a sugar high. Once all of that sugar is regulated into the rest of the body, a headache could kick in. Its your birthday, its the holidays, its donut day at the office. All that sugar is too much! mkay?!? Simply cutting down on the sweets could mean cutting down on the headaches.      

The last reason is for you ladies out there. Ever sprayed a little too much of your favorite fragrance? Ever gotten an "im gonna kick your butt" headache all of the sudden during the day? PERFUME OVERLOAD! CAN NOT COMPUTE! OVERLOAD OVERLOAD! You may think you smell like a movie star but the person next to you thinks you smell like a headache. Anything with a specific smell like lotions, cremes, perfumes, etc, can cause headaches.

Hope you didnt get a headache reading all of this!

Massive amounts of people took hold of their buckets and shovels and boots in South Korea. You may be thinking..."they were making sand castles on the beach!" well...no...Many volunteers showed up to clean up one of South Korea's largest oil spils in a huge opperation to save the fish and birds. The spill blackened shores for miles along the coast.

  Over 7,000 locals hurried to scoop up the crude oil that had washed up along the beaches, while 100 more worked among ships out at sea. Officials were instructed to help affected fish and birds. If the thick oil is not removed from their bodies promptly, the birds and fish die. Late into the day, 560 gallons of oil were cleaned up....only about 5% of the oil that had been spilled total.

The spill hapened when a ship was hit by barge and started gushing out oil into the ocean. The remaining holes have now been plugged so no more oil can spill. Clean up crews are still busy at work, saving the environment one shovel full at a time.
