THE RUMOR HAS IT....

Rumor has it that if the students keep throwing the milk seals on the ground, the milk machine will be shut down. I think this is a bit drastic, especially since the janitors at night sweep the floors. The staff should tell the students that if they are caught throwing the seals on the ground instead of the trash, they will get a detention. I think that we should keep the milk machine going because it is a big success, and if they shut it down they will just be cutting themselves of money. I think this would be worthless by shutting down the machince if we dont pick up our stuff cause that would be and big waste of money, beside that why we have janitors.

Barack Obama's

Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is denying a fresh accusation leveled by the campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton that surrogates for the Illinois Democrat are engaging in "dirty tricks" in Iowa. Clinton campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle made the charge in a letter to supporters Monday night. "In both Iowa and New Hampshire, we have heard that Obama staffers are berating Hillary supporters on the phone with negative attacks against her," wrote Doyle. She went on to describe accounts of a negative campaign tactic known as "push polling"-- a practice where voters receive phone calls from individuals posing as independent pollsters who instead offer details of negative and sometimes misleading attributes about a particular candidate. Doyle also said some of Clintion's Iowa supporters have received calls that direct them to the wrong precinct locations. In a statement released Tuesday, Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton called the accusation a "flat-out falsehood." Tuesday's back-and-forth between the leading Democratic presidential is the latest in a primary process. Brock has a good chance at winnin the precidency. I really hope he does it would be great for this country. Maybe he can get us out of Iran. Barack you have my vote.

Mrs. Peterson

In Bolingbrook, Illinois investigators seraching for an ex-police officer's wife are focusing on the Global Positioning System in her husband's vehicle along with "biological material" and other physical evidence, according to a published report. The Chicago Tribunereported in its Thursday editions that it obtained a warrant served on Drew Peterson in the investigation of his missing 23-year old wife, Stacy. A separate warrant executed November 1 and also by the newspaper indicates authorities sought "all GPS records, cellular service records, logging records or any other eletronic records in the possession of OnStar Inc." relating to a 2005 GMC Yukon Denali driven by Peterson. The warrant did not say what investigators sought to learn for OnStar, General Motors' driver assistance subscription service. OnStar spokesman Jim Kobus said the service does not track subscribers' vehicles. Tuesday's warrant omitted specific language about OnStar; in its place was a generic description that included "in-dash GPS navigation systems," according to the Tribune. Stacy Peterson was last seen October 28 and reported missing by her family the next day. Drew Peterson, a longtime member of the Bolingbrook Police Department until he quit after his wife went missing, has denied any involvement in her disappearance.  Authorities also are investigating the death of Peterson's ex-wife, Kathleen Savio, whose body was found in her bathtub in 2004. Her death initially was ruled an accidental drowning. But when Peterson disappeared, the Will County State's Attorney's office opened another investigation into that case and has said it appears her death was a homicide staged to look like an accident.

Hate crime charges dropped on gays

In Washington congress has dropped legislation that would have expanded hate crime laws to include attacks on gays after it became clear the measure wouldn't pass the House, aides said Thursday.  The bill, sponsired by Sen. Edward Kennedy, was widely supported by Democrats and even some moderate Senate Republicans, but because it was attached to a major defense policy bill that would have authorzied more money for the Iraq war, many anti-war democrats said they would oppose it. "We don't have the votes," said one House Democractic aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity because conference negotiations on the defense bill were on going. "We're abouit 40 votes short, not four or six."  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said she was "strongly committed" to the bill and will continue to work to send it to President Bush. Under current federal law, hate crimes include acts of violence against indivduals on the basis of race, religion, color or national origin. Federal prosecutors have jurisdiction only if the victim is engaged in a specific federally protected activity such as voting. Kennedy's bill would have extended the category to include sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or disability. It also would give federal authorites greater leeway to participate in hate crime invesigations, and allow them to step in if local authorities were unwilling or unable to act. The measure also would have provided $10 million over the next two years to help the local law enforcement officals cover the cost hate crime prosecutions.  The bill is named Matthew Shepard, a gya college freshman who died after he was beaten into a coma in 1998 in Laramie,Wyoming.
